What to Expect During Worship
At Church of the Vine, we gather each Sunday to worship. When you come you will experience the following:
- The public reading of God’s Word. Paul instructs the church in 1 Timothy 4:13 that we are to devote ourselves to the public reading of Scripture. We want to hear from God in our assembly, so we read His Word.
- The preaching of God’s Word. Paul instructs Timothy in 2 Timothy 4 to preach the Word. Once again, we want to hear from God in our assembly, so we preach the Word.
- The singing of God’s praises. Ephesians 5 instructs us as a church that we are to address one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord. We want to exhort and encourage one another with our voices as we praise God.
- Prayer. We gather together on Sunday to pray corporately to God and to pray for one another. The New Testament instructs us to pray for one another and to offer supplications for all the saints (Ephesians 6:18).
- The Lord’s Supper. One of the two ordinances that Christ has given to His church is the Lord’s Supper. Each Sunday we remember Christ’s death for us and look forward to His glorious coming through this ordinance.

Location
Starting as a church plant we are grateful for the partnerships we have with other local churches. Particularly, regarding location, we are grateful for St. Mark’s Church in Burlington, NC for allowing us to use their chapel to meet on Sunday mornings. Below are the details.
When: Sunday mornings at 11am.
Where: St. Mark’s Church (1230 St Marks Church Rd, Burlington, NC 27215). We meet in the chapel that is on the campus. If you are facing the church from St. Mark’s Church Rd. it will be the building on the left.
If you are planning on attending one of our services and want to make sure you have the correct location please feel free to email Pastor Troy at troy@churchotv.com and he will make sure you know where you are going!
Children’s Ministry
We offer children’s ministry programming on Sunday mornings. Our programming is first and foremost concerned with offering children a safe environment to learn. All of our volunteers have completed a background check.
Childcare is available for children from birth to 4 years old during our worship service on Sunday morning. Children that are 5 years old and older attend worship with their families. We want from a young age to teach our children what it means to be a part of corporate worship and what it means to be a part of the church. But don’t worry! We have activity bags to help keep your children engaged during worship and our services are family-friendly.
During our discipleship classes on Sunday, we do offer classes for children (birth through 5th grade) to attend that are age-specific. In their classes, they will be able to connect with other kids and learn a lesson that is age-appropriate.
Overall, our kids’ ministry philosophy is simple. We have two primary goals. First, we want to support our parents that are called to be the primary disciple-makers of their children. Second, we want to equip our parents so they feel confident in their ability to disciple their children.
